The Table Delay-Codes

The master data table is used to define the delay codes.

The codes defined here are available in the flight scheduling software to assign appropriate delay reasons to flights. These codes can then be used for internal information of operational staff or external information for passengers. Note that delay reasons also might be relevant for billing purposes, e.g. payments might be affected depending on who caused a delay.

Following data can be recorded:

  • ID:*

Internal definition of the delay code (ID = Identifier). This ID is used as a reference code by the software and must be unique. By default the numeric IATA codes are used. A combination of this code and the Name (see below) is shown in the pull-down menu of the operative flight planning for assigning delays to specific flights.

  • Name:

Name of delay code in plain text; by default the IATA name (description) is used.

  • Code:

Alphanumeric code of delay reason; by default the alphanumeric IATA code is used.

  • Own Responsibility:

Mark if delay is to be considered as self-inflicted

The Table Delay-Codes -> Sub-Delay-Codes

The master data table is used to define the sub-delay codes.

IATA has specified sub-delay codes for some of the delay codes. These sub-delay codes can be administered here.

Following data can be entered:

  • Delay:

Combination of ID and Code of the delay code selected in the master table Delay-Codes

  • Subcode:*

Sub-code as defined by IATA for some of the delay codes

  • Name:*

Name of sub-delay code

  • Airline:

Pull-down menu to select the airline using the configuration. The airlines available in this list are defined in the table Customer in the master data module Contract.

  • Own Responsibility:

Mark if delay is to be considered as self-inflicted

  • Remark:

Freely definable text comment
