Prerequisites
Web-Browser
Being a completely web-based software, the MSR can be used on both stationary and mobile computers. As prerequisites, only a standard web browser (e.g. Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari) with JavaScript is required. Almost any current hardware can be used with the system because the hardware requirements are very modest. Please note that the software can also be used on standard desktop PCs.
Online Connection
Also required is an online connection to the server (main system / GHS) for exchanging data. This can either be a network cable connection, WLAN or even mobile phone data networks. Naturally, access to a server address defined in co-operation with topsystem must be implemented.
Configuration of Services
Before the MSR can be used, services have to be prepared in the main system (GHS) under module Contract. With the corresponding settings in the contract management and the master data, the company can decide which services are to be registered as additional services and which services can be registered as special services. This means, for each service in the electronic service catalogue or in an individual contract it can be defined if a service is available for registration in the MSR.
Furthermore, each service to be registered with the MSR should be assigned to a specific organisation unit. This allows reducing the list of available services for each user to those that correspond to the tasks of his department. For more information about how these service settings are done, please refer to chapter The Module Services Flights.
Login Permissions
For being able to log into the MSR, a user needs to be created in the user rights management with a corresponding user name and password. In addition to this the user needs to be assigned to at least one service department. Please note that it might be helpful to assign a user to multiple service departments if he works for multiple departments at different times. Note that a user will only see the service list for the service department he is currently logged in for (unless this is deactivated, see section Option for ignoring service departments for more information).
