The Table Aircraft Type
This table contains master data about the various aircraft types, including their international code definitions.
Aircraft types are superordinate to aircraft registration, i.e. each individual aircraft is assigned an aircraft type. In case no detailed data is available for an individual aircraft (e.g. for MTOW, seat capacity etc.), operational software requiring this data uses the corresponding aircraft type data as a fallback source.
Following data is captured for each type:
Unique identifier of the aircraft type. It is recommendable to use one of the international aircraft codes here. |
International 3-letter code for the aircraft type according to IATA standard |
International 4-letter code for the aircraft type according to ICAO standard |
Name of the aircraft type in plain text |
Superordinate class of the aircraft. The classes available in this list are defined in the master data module Aircraft Class. |
Maximum take-off weight of the aircraft type (in kg) |
Number of seats available in an aircraft type |
Add a freely definable commentary |
Data records marked as "Deleted" will not be listed in corresponding pull-down menus anymore. |
Date and time when the data record was changed last (filled automatically) |
Name of the last user who changed the data record (filled automatically) |
It is possible to administer another Aircraft Class (Wide Body or Narrow Body as well as ICAO Codes A to F) for aircraft types, as some billing rules refer to the ICAO class, but other ones refer e.g. to the more generic aircraft classes or an even different classification. The classes available in this list are defined in the master data module Aircraft Class. |
